1st Tubing Day of 2010!

Sarah has been anxiously waiting for the weather (and water!) to be warm enough for tubing.  Today was finally the day!  After school we went out on the boat and did a little tubing.  Mommy went with Sarah for a little while, and then Sarah went all by herself.  After all that tubing Sarah was ready for a little snack – and she even tried her first grape soda!

Piano Recital 12.09

I finally figured out how to get video files off the camera and onto the computer! So here is Sarah's very 1st piano recital last December. She had only been taking lessons for a few weeks.

Fun at the Zoo

Sarah had a school field trip to the zoo on Tuesday.  I volunteered to chaperone…so much fun!  The kids got to ride on the school bus, which Sarah was so excited about.  We got to the zoo early, so it wasn’t yet crowded.  We walked around looking at all the animals – fun to see the zoo through a four year olds eyes!  Then we had a picnic lunch followed by a short class on the 4 different classes of animals (mammal, reptile, birds, fish).  The kids even got to pet a bunny.  Then we were off to the carousel, which it seemed all the kiddos enjoyed very much…but not as much as the ice cream that followed!  After a little playtime in the Children’s Zoo and playground it was time to load up the buses.   Although we were exhausted at the end of the day we really enjoyed our trip!

Sarah’s 1st Soccer Game

Sarah had her 1st soccer game this morning!  Her team name is The Surge.  I think she was a little worn out by the end of the game, but she sure looked like she was having fun.  The game ended right before a thunderstorm rolled through, so everyone was running for their cars.  I guess I’m officially a soccer mom!

Headphones

Sarah was on Spring Break for my 2nd OB appointment, so I let her come with me.  She brought her Leapster in case we had to wait a long time (which can happen anytime at an OB’s office!)  She was playing a game on the way to the office, and the sound effects were driving me nuts.  So I asked her to plug her headphones in so I wouldn’t have to hear them.  I asked her if she knew how to plug them in or if she needed me to help her.  Her response: Mommy you just plug them in where the little headphones are!  Duh!  I guess preschoolers are more observant than we give them credit for!

By the way, OB appointment went well.  I gained 8 pounds since my last appointment (oops!)  Sarah was able to hear the baby’s heartbeat and was so excited.  Then down to the lab where Sarah insisted on sitting in my lap while watching intently as the phlebotomist drew my blood.  After Sarah made sure I had an extra band-aid to take with us, we were on our way.  Thankfully we were in and out in about an hour!

Sarah vs. Bike

After over a year of struggling with Sarah and the Bike, Sarah has finally succeeded in circling the neighborhood! Grammy bought the Bike back in Nov/Dec of 2008 because Sarah was outgrowing her tricycle. Sarah was a little stubborn (can you imagine?) and resisted learning how to pedal the new Bike. We were hoping she would eventually get a little peer pressure to learn and that was indeed the case! Friday is W for Wheels day at school, and all the kids in her class get to bring in their bikes to ride at recess. So Sarah decided she better learn to ride that Bike!

Key West Souvenir

Well it’s official!  We went to the doctor today for an ultrasound and we’re expecting!!  We were able to see the heartbeat, and everything is looking good.  I am due October 12, and we are all so excited, especially Sarah.
